Introductory Course Outline
The 10 week introductory course offers an entirely practical approach to the study and practice of philosophy. It provides
guidance for a deeper understanding of ourselves, the world in which we live and a fresh way of dealing with the challenges
that we face in everyday life.
Course Outline
Session 1: What is Philosophy? A very practical exercise in awareness.
Session 2: Self-knowledge. Observation and verification. Being open minded.
Session 3: Knowledge vs information. Levels of awareness. The spirit of enquiry
Session 4: The possibility of realising your full potential. Transcending fear.
Session 5: Reason, justice and injustice. Experiencing deeper levels of being through stillness.
Session 6: What is consciousness? The nature of Beauty.
Session 7: The question: ‘What am I?’
Session 8: Three fundamental forces of nature. Freedom from pleasure and pain.
Session 9: What lies beyond these universal forces? The power attention - free and bound.
